Best public pools in the USA
Summertime is just around the corner and you might be wondering what to do or where to bring your kids for a refreshing dip, especially if you live a bit further than the ocean and got no pool in your home. Here at Platinum Sun we are pure ocean lovers, but sometimes we just can’t help it but visit a public pool next door. It is easier and safer for kids or any beginner swimmers and it is the perfect choice if you are looking for a low cost water parkish experience. Today we’ve come up with a list of what we believe are the best and worth visiting public pools in the USA. We will also share with you some tips and advices before visiting a public pool, and of course a list of items you should not leave behind.
The number one pool we believe is super pretty with a beautiful waterfall and some palm trees is the Coral Gables Venetian Pool in Florida. This pool has some very nice surroundings but it might not be the perfect choice for kids under the age of three years old because of his depth. Get yourself ready to enjoy an amazing day in this communtiy pool, what once was a spot for celebrities and big names in Coral Gables!
Before heading to any public pools mentioned in this article we would like to share with you some tips and a list of what to bring in your backpack! Sunscreen and towels are always a MUST, like we always say it is super important to stay safe from the UV lights and if you have more sensitive skin then we highly reccomend to wear a + 50 UPF rashguard and/or swim leggings every time you are exposed under then sun, to avoid rashes and sun burnts. A water bottle, sunglasses and a change of clothing are also super important. You can easily fit all these items in our Adventure Dry Bag, making sure all your personal belongings are safe and they stay dry during the whole day!
The second pool on our list is in Washington DC called Rosedale pool. It is DC’s newest outdoor pool and it provides you with water slides, a perfect pool height for your kids, many lanes for lap swimming and so much more. This pool is a popular one, so a little advice we can give you if you decide to visit is to get there before noon!
Now we will talk about one of the biggest public pools in the country: Pearce Pool. It is situated in Alabama and the pool was specifically made to look more like a lake than a pool, it is also surrounded by woodland instead of the usual ones. The costs are low, around 5 or 10 USD depending on age. The pool depth starts from 6 inches all the way to 15 feet.
A cool pool might also be worth visiting is the Skyline Aquatic Center in Mesa, Arizona. This center offers swimming classes of any level, 28 Olympic- size competition swim lanes and a fast water slide. This park is perfect for kids and adults of any ages since it has a zero depth entry. Water slides are always a good way to spend the day, you and your kids will always enjoy the ride and time goes by so fast when you are having fun!
Are you around the West Coast? Then visiting the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica is a location you can’t miss out! It is a stunning pool with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, with a playground, a marble deck, and a renovated pool house. The entry fee is again between 10 usd to 5 usd, depending on age.
There are many public pools in the USA, we wish we could talk about them all, but here we left a small summary and review about our favorite ones! If you ever visit any of the locations listed above, let us know how it goes!
The Platinum Sun team wishes all of you an amazing and unforgettable summer!
